A gigantic whale of 65 feet length (20 meters) appeared dead on Wednesday on a southern beach from California and according to reports this Thursday the degree of decomposition of the animal was such that some people who were near the corpse could not avoid vomiting.

The fin whale was female and appeared on Bolsa Chica state beach , north of Huntington Beach , in Orange County. On Saturday, it was said to be removed from the beach and taken by a designated company to a landfill. According to NBC Los Angeles, the whale weighs more than the , 000 pounds, equivalent to the average weight of 765 people.

“It is an incredibly disgusting smell because it is in a state of decomposition,” he said Kevin Pearsall, California State Parks Representative , to the local newspaper Daily Pilot . “We had a couple of people who couldn’t stand the smell and threw up, so (people) need to stay away.”

It is believed that the whale is one of the two that died after suffering a collision with an Australian military ship conducting joint military exercises off the coast of the San Diego area . The place of the collision is unknown.

The whales – mother and daughter – actually got stuck under the ship and were seen until the Australian vessel approached a dock on May 8. The other dead whale was washed out to sea by a ship.

A video posted on Instagram last week showed one of the whales being eaten by a dozen sharks near San Clemente Island.
