Two-thirds of Californians older than 18 years are already vaccinated at least partially , a fact that allows to see closer to the desired group immunity and that facilitates state path to reopening with no restrictions announced for the 15 June .

The data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) network indicates that until this Tuesday a 64. 1% of residents of 18 years or more have received at least one dose of any of the three vaccines approved in United States (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson).

This data is known days after the follow-up of the vaccination of Los Angeles Times indicated that the 50% of state residents are had vaccinated at least partially and places California in position number 11 from the list of states in the country with the highest percentage of vaccinated population .

The golden state figure is above the national one, which indicates that around a 60% of all adult Americans are vaccinated at least in part. The leading states in this regard are Vermont, with a .4%; Hawaii, with a 76 .6%; and Massachusetts, with a 75. 7%.

When compared to other large states, California is also in a good position. In Pennsylvania, nearly a 67. 8% of adults have received at least one vaccine, in New York it has been a 62. 4% and in both Florida and Texas, a 54.3%.

But vaccination remains a priority for state and local health authorities , not will apply the CDC recommendations on the use of the mask for fully inoculated people in part to expect that a greater percentage of the population will be vaccinated.

“This four-week period will give Californians for change as we continue to relentlessly focus on vaccine delivery affected during the pandemic, ”said Dr. Mark Ghaly, secretary of the state agency for Health and Human Services, on Monday.

So far, a 62. 9% of all Californians eligible to get vaccinated – that is, who have years or more- at least one dose has been injected and the 45. 7% are fully vaccinated . At the national level, these data are 60. 5% and 44. 5%, respectively.

The highest challenge continues to be inoculating the most vulnerable and underserved communities , many of them predominantly Latino. The authorities allege that this is one of the reasons why they have been closing mass vaccination centers and have focused on mobile clinics that can travel to different parts of the areas where these people live.
