Los Angeles police release video of knife attack on homeless woman while she slept

The Los Angeles Police Department ( LAPD has requested the collaboration of citizens to identify a person suspected of attacking a homeless woman with a deadly weapon, who was left in critical condition . A video that shared by the authorities shows the moment in which the alleged attacker wields the knife and directs it towards the head of the helpless.

The events occurred around midnight on Tuesday 18 May near the intersection of the street 25 with San Pedro Street. A homeless woman was sleeping on the ground when a person stabbed her in the head with a steel kitchen knife, according to the police said. The suspect immediately fled the scene.

A bystander contacted the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) police and paramedics ) and transferred the victim to the hospital in critical condition .

Authorities described the suspect as a black or Hispanic male, among 30 and 40 years and that he measures 5 feet and 10 inches and weighs approximately 185 pounds .
