Fire destroys about 40 campers and other vehicles in Canyon Lake, California

Around 40 campers and other vehicles burned in a fire Wednesday afternoon in the community of Canyon Lake, in Riverside County , Southern California. The cause of the incident that produced a huge plume of black smoke is believed to be related to propane tanks.

A statement from CAL FIRE and the Riverside County Fire Department said that one firefighter of the 75 who responded to the fire sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The Canyon Lake community surrounds the water reservoir of the same name in the region known as the Inland Empire.

In addition to recreational vehicles better known as RVs, trailers, jeeps and off-road vehicles were burned . The fire was reported around 2: 30 pm in a place where the vehicles were stored.

The firefighters managed to control the fire relatively quickly, in around an hour. The causes of the loss are investigated.
