A man asked on Monday night for a woman at the door of a house in Alhambra , California, and when it came out he was shot several times in the head .
Police came to the 1600 block of South Benito Avenue around 9: 45 Monday night after receiving a call that reported that a 30 had been shot , according to a press release from the Alhambra Police Department.
The police version indicates that the man, whose identity has not yet been revealed , knocked on the door of the house, asked for one of the residents and, when the woman left, pulled the trigger.
When the agents arrived found the woman on the ground , near the door. From there, she was transferred to a hospital from where on Tuesday they said she was in a critical but stable situation .
Police say the suspect fled on foot after the shooting and has yet to be found . Authorities described him as a portly Latino male from among 20 and 30 years and he is about 6 feet 3 inches . When last seen he was wearing a black sweater and blue jeans and was armed with a semi-automatic pistol .
Paramedics transferred the woman to an ambulance while officers asked questions of several young people outside a house on South Benito Avenue, according to KTLA .
Authorities did not disclose further information of a shooting that is continuing to be investigated, so no further details are available and they are asking anyone who knows anything about the case to be put in contact the Alhambra Police Department by calling the phone number 626 – 570 – 5151.
