All coronavirus pandemic restricted health orders in Ohio will be lifted on 2 June, Governor Mike DeWine announced in his state address Wednesday.

“It is time to end the health orders. It’s been a year, “ said DeWine. ” You have followed the protocols. You have done what we ask of you. You have bravely fought against this virus. And now, our cases have decreased, and we have a tried and tested weapon in the vaccine that all residents of Ohio from 12 years and more can use ”, reported 10 WBNS.
The Governor also announced Wednesday that the state of Ohio will provide 5 stimuli of $ 1 million dollars to five residents who are vaccinated against COVID – 19 , in an effort to increase vaccination rates, reported CBS News .
“In two weeks from tonight, the 26 of May, we will announce a separate drawing winner for adults who have received at least their first dose of vaccine. This announcement will occur every Wednesday for five weeks, and the winner each Wednesday will receive a million dollars, ”DeWine said in a tweet on Wednesday.

The drawings will be conducted by the Ohio Lottery , said DeWine. All residents older than 18 years are eligible, provided they have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine – 19.
Winners will be chosen from the state’s public voter registration database. Those who are not registered to vote but want to be included in the lottery can register through a website that will be available in the coming weeks.
The funds for $ 5 million prizes and sweepstakes running costs will come from federal COVID relief funds – 19 existing, according to DeWine. The governor specified what the funds were originally allocated for.

They also offer scholarship award for young people who get vaccinated
DeWine also announced a separate lottery offering scholarships for those who are vaccinated but under 18 years. This lottery will also choose one winner per week for five weeks from 26 of May.

DeWine also announced Wednesday that the Health Department will lift all COVID-related health orders on June 2, “except for nursing homes and assisted living facilities.”
This includes all mask wearing and social distancing mandates, although DeWine noted that businesses and Individual schools may still choose to enforce their own rules.
“In fact, based on the experiences of In other states, we expect many stores or businesses to require social distancing and masking, ”DeWine said.
