The family of an African American man who was shot and killed by Sheriff’s agents in Elizabeth City, North Carolina , said that a new video from a body camera shows that his death was not justified, reported CNN .
On Tuesday, the family of Andrew Brown Jr . and their representatives were able to see more than 18 minutes of almost two hours of police body camera video that was recorded before and after Brown’s death , which occurred in the past of April.
The footage was edited from the body cameras of four bailiffs and the dash cam of a police car. Sons Brown said the video that saw the death convinces him that his father was not justified.
“My father did not deserve to die at all. He did not deserve to be killed in any way or shape. He posed no threat, ”said Gerard Ferebee.

Andrew Brown, by 42 years, was shot and killed when Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at his home to comply with a court order that indicted him for serious drug offenses.
“You should cause outrage that in 2021 a man can be shot dead by a firing squad ”, said Harry Daniels, who represents the Brown family.
A prosecutor said that officers opened fire after Brown’s car made contact with one of the officers.
Hance Lynch , an attorney for the Brown family who viewed the videos with the family, said that’s not what
The death of Andrew Brown Jr. caused national outrage and increased requests for authorities to release the full, unedited footage.
Unlike other states, North Carolina requires a judge to approve public release of police videos. A judge ruled against and said the video must remain out of public view for at least 30 days while the police conduct an investigation.
“We are calling for the immediate arrest of these officers. You don’t need an investigation when you have a cold-blooded murder. Find out why, ”Daniels said.
Protests demanding full release of the videos continue as the family and their attorneys call Brown’s shooting an “execution.” They want the district attorney to abstain from the case, citing his close working relationship with the Pasquotank sheriff’s office. But the district attorney has refused to do so, saying, “I am ready, willing and able to fulfill my legal obligations.”
The Brown family, along with North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper are calling for a special counsel to investigate this case of alleged police abuse.
