Telemundo confirms sequel to 'Pasión de Gavilanes' taking up the story 20 years later

The Hispanic network is preparing a new season of ‘Pasión de Gavilanes’, the Colombian telenovela about the Reyes brothers who seek to avenge the death of his sister falling in love with the Elizondo sisters

Telemundo has many surprises for its new season and its Upfront for the 2021 – 2022 has confirmed the production of “ Pasión de Gavilanes 2 “.

Pasión de Gavilanes II brings back the story of the Reyes brothers from one of Telemundo’s most iconic original productions. In the first season, the Reyes brothers infiltrate the Elizondo family estate posing as workers to avenge their sister’s death. The intense resentment that the brothers once felt dissipates quickly, after finding true love in the Elizondo sisters.

Now, 20 years later, the and the Elizondo have come together as a family, but their bonds will be tested by new challenges. This new generation of Pasión de Gavilanes is predestined to begin another tragic crime that shakes the family to the core. The subsequent investigation into the mysterious death of a teacher points to the children of one of the couples as possible culprits, triggering a dramatic series of events to prove their innocence.

The Hispanic network has not confirmed the cast of this second season but it is expected that it will be the same cast. “Pasión de Gavilanes” occurred between 2003 and 2008 and starred Mario Cimarro , Danna García , Paola Rey , Alfonso Baptista , Natasha Klauss and Michel Brown.

This version of Telemundo was an adaptation of “Las Aguas Mansas” that it was a period soap opera. The adaptation in 2003 temperature being something more sexy and sensual. It was so successful that several versions of the same story have been made.

In the 2008, Televisa made “Fuego en la Sangre” based on “Pasión de Gavilanes”. This version had great success starring Adela Noriega , Eduardo Yáñez , Elizabeth Álvarez , Jorge Salinas , Pablo Montero and Nora Salinas .

In the 2010 a Spanish version is made called “Gavilanes” and it worked more like a series where two seasons were made.

Telemundo returns to make an updated version of the story of Julio Jimenez but this time it is called “Land of Kings”. In the leading roles they have Ana Lorena Sánchez , Aarón Díaz , Kimberly Dos Ramos , Gonzalo García Vivanco , Scarlet Gruber and Christian de la Campa .

Most recently in the 2015, an adaptation is made again under the name of “Pasión de Amor” but this time in the Philippines.

There is no doubt that it is a story that the public loves and this second version will surely run with the same success as the first.
