Honduran migrant dies after being hit by Border Patrol vehicle
A Honduran immigrant died south of Texas after being run over by a vehicle of the Patrol Border that he had not seen that the victim was hiding in the tall grass, the federal agency reported.
The events occurred in the past 28 April, near Kingsville , and in addition to the dead Honduran, another immigrant was injured who was transferred by air to a nearby hospital, from where he was later discharged without serious injuries.

According to a statement from the Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP), a group of agents guarded an area of high activity of smuggling migrants when they discovered fresh footprints possibly of undocumented immigrants still in the area, which “was covered with extremely thick and tall grass interspersed with groves of taller vegetation.”
During the inspection, done both in vehicles and on foot , Border Patrol agents found two groups of migrants who surrendered to authorities, while a third group that was hiding in the grass emerged and alerted the officers that “another individual who had been hit by a vehicle.”

When the officers located said individual, he informed them “that he and other migrant were run over by a vehicle of the Border Patrol while they were buried next to each other in the grass, “according to the statement.
After federal agents located the other immigrant , an Emergency Medical Team (EMT) from l a Border Patrol treated the migrants on the spot and determined the death of one of them due to the injuries.

“The initial investigation indicates that Border Patrol agents did not know that someone was buried in the grass nor did they know that someone had been hit by a vehicle until a migrant informed them,” the federal agency.

Also in March a Cuban migrant drowned trying to swim around the border wall in the Pacific Ocean from Playas de Tijuana to Imperial Beach , California, and a Honduran woman from 28 years drowned near the same place on 13 of March, as reported by the newspaper San Diego Union Tribune .
