Orlando Magic guard Devin Cannady had to leave the court on a stretcher after suffering a na open fracture in the ankle at the start of the game vs. the Indiana Pacers.

The injury occurred with three minutes remaining in the first quarter . At that moment Cannady rushed to defend a fast break layup, but fell on his right leg.

Cannady immediately screamed in pain as blood spurted from his ankle. His teammate, Mo Bamba, ran to his side to cover the injured area with his own t-shirt. In the cameras it was possible to see the blood on the court.

Cannady was carried off the court on a stretcher. Before leaving, he raised his thumb up and everyone present gave him a standing ovation.

This Monday morning Cannady tweeted: “In God’s hands, he has never failed me!”

After Cannady’s surgery, Orlando Magic press team posted that his bones and cartilage remain intact ; however, he will be out for the rest of the season.

On his Twitter account, Cannady wrote: “ In other words: God performs miracles “.
