President Joe Biden will participate in an event in the Atlanta metropolitan area, Georgia, next week to celebrate their first 80 days in charge , reported Atlanta-Journal Constitution .

Biden will lead a rally in Atlanta to highlight his administration’s policies and thank Americans for the achievements made since taking office in January, the White House said. And the president also announced it on his Twitter account:

Heading back to Georgia with @ DrBiden next Thursday to mark 100 days of our administration and thank folks for helping us build back better as a nation. See you soon!

The event will take place one day after his speech on Wednesday at a joint session of Congress, where he will address for the first time to both houses since taking office.

Biden’s visit to Georgia coincides with its efforts to accelerate the distribution of the coronavirus vaccine and promote a $ 2.3 billion infrastructure proposal.

Also matches efforts by Democrats to pass a federal expansion of voting rights, a momentum that was intensified by the modifications to the right to vote imposed by the state government in Georgia that Biden has criticized.

The White House spokesperson, Jen Psaki, confirmed at a press conference that the president will travel to Georgia with his wife, Jill Biden, to participate in this event and explain “how she is fulfilling her promises to the people American. ”

It will be an event in which attendees will remain in their vehicles to maintain social distance due to the pandemic, as happened in most of the rallies that Biden did during the electoral campaign of the presidential elections last November.

The White House also announced that Biden will also take stock of the pandemic situation again, with a public intervention next Tuesday.

Second trip to Georgia

During President Biden and Vice President Harris’ first trip to Georgia, the past 19 from March, a rally in support of his COVID Economic Stimulus Bill was planned – 16 of $ 1.9 trillion. Instead, both spoke out against violence and hateful anti-Asian rhetoric, in the wake of the series of spa shootings that left eight people dead, including six women of Asian descent.

Biden won 16 Key electoral votes in traditionally Republican Georgia in the presidential elections of 2020, beating Donald Trump for less than 12, 000 votes, or 0. 24%.

That status also gave Biden a significant legislative advantage when, in the January 5 runoff, Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock won both open Senate seats, which gave his party control of the Upper House.
