Pioneers in Concacaf! Costa Rica will use a ball made of plastic bottles


The Costa Rican Football Federation (Fedefutbol), established an alliance with the brand Brazilian Penalty. Balls S 11 Ecoknit will be used in ‘La Sele’ matches. The ball is approved by FIFA

The Costa Rican Football Federation l (Fedefutbol), announced that all its national teams will start using ecological balls made of recycled plastic . The ball is certified by FIFA.

This initiative arises from the link between the Fedefutbol and the Brazilian company Penalty. Due to the sponsorship the brand will supply S balls 11 Ecoknit , which are manufactured with 4.5 recycled plastic bottles and that they are authorized by FIFA by meeting preset standards.

The president of the Costa Rican Football Federation, Rodolfo Villalobos , assured to be happy and satisfied with this new alliance. The leader proudly sees the fact of being able to have brought this technological innovation in the confederation . “We are very happy to know that a company of such prestige is joining the work of the national teams. For our footballers it will be a great satisfaction to have such a high-tech ball ”, said Villalobos.

The highest soccer representative in Costa Rica assured that his federation is the first to bring this type of technology to Concacaf. “With this strategic alliance, Costa Rica becomes the first Concacaf country to use an ecological ball as an official ball certified by FIFA ”, he highlighted.

For his part, the general manager of Penalty, Alejandro Venegas , was pleased that the company can contribute to the evolution of soccer in Costa Rica. ” It is extremely proud to be able to carry out this agreement to contribute to the development of Costa Rican football , with a first-rate ball that uses state-of-the-art technology ”.

This ball has some processes that make it unique and that also allow it to behave like a ball with normal treaties. “Thanks to the high quality processes, our ball S 11 Ecoknit has 0% water absorption , this means that even if you are playing low a downpour, the ball will always have the same weight and dimensions, which favors performance on the pitch, ”explained Venegas.
