As if it were a movie sequel, the second part of the history of the Super League has arrived: The British Super League. This was revealed by The Sun newspaper this Thursday. This is a project that would consist of expanding the Premier League to include the two great teams from Scotland: Celtic and Rangers by Steven Gerrard.
According to the British media, the six teams that founded the Super League and later withdrew would seek to increase their tournament local to improve the level of the competition . In fact, the newspaper assures that both teams from Glasgow had already approved the new project.
Both teams would gain more projection international, as well as more economic resources to further strengthen their schools. Not to mention the television rights that would help them to be more viewed and even earn income from them.
It is important to highlight the importance that the organizing bodies such as FIFA and UEFA would support the project. In fact, Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, has already raised the possibility of merging domestic competitions such as the Netherlands and Belgium or Mexico and the United States .
In addition to the inclusion of both Scottish teams , there would be more news in the new Premier League Super League. Some of these changes are that the tournament would be reduced to 18 and the format would also be affected, changing from a league to a playoff format, thus simulating the rugby system.
