Former US President George W. Bush Opens Exhibition of Immigrant Portraits in Texas
The former president of the United States, George W. Bush
, inaugurated a collection of oil paintings and stories in Texas, entitled “Out of Many One: Portraits of America’s Immigrants” (From Many , One: Portraits of United States Immigrants), which reflects the importance that Bush, who was in the White House of 2001 to 2009, has assigned to immigration in his entire political career.

In interviews with the media, George W. Bush , from 74 years old, has said that the greatest disappointment in his presidential administration was not having achieved a comprehensive reform of the system immigration of the United States, which supports more than 11 millions of foreigners in illegality.
In an interview with the Telemundo network, broadcast on the occasion of the parallel launch of his book of portraits and stories of immigrants, Bush said he had started painting “from scratch , without prior knowledge, about eight or nine years ago. ”

Bush recalled the role he played in his life and that of his brothers Paula Rendón, a woman from Cuernavaca, Mexico, who was his nanny and, for him, “a second mother.”
“Paulita was my first real encounter with the history of immigrants. Obviously, it stayed with me all my life, and I’m very happy to have painted it, “he said.

The exhibition in The George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, Texas will remain open for visitors until January 3 next.
