TEXAS – Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz is once again in a controversial situation after announcing that will not wear a mask while in the Capitol or during moments to be presented in the interior Senate.
In an interview with CNN Cruz, he said that his decision is due to the fact that “everyone” in the Senate has already received their vaccines of COVID – 19.
In the interview Cruz quoted the CDC, which recently indicated that small groups of vaccinated people can meet without the need to wear masks.

Reports, however, indicate that a considerable number of senators, their assistants and journalists, in Senate coverage, have not yet been vaccinated. It should be noted that the indications to which Cruz refers indicate that vaccinated people can gather without masks in their homes or private gatherings, but it does not say anything about whether it is convenient not to wear a mask in a huge government building.
Cruz is not the only Republican senator who refuses to wear a mask in the Senate, Rand Paul from Kentucky and Rob Johnson from Washington, both have not been vaccinated, they also do not wear a mask.
Half of the Senate is made up of people older than 65 years, this population is considered by the CDC one of the most vulnerable.
Cruz’s announcement comes a month after the senator was confronted by a reporter who asked him to wear a mask during a press conference.
“When I speak in front of the cameras I will not wear a mask,” Cruz told the reporter. The senator added that he was already vaccinated, the reporter insisted and Cruz told him that if he did not agree, he could go.
