According Los Angeles Times , which cites a recent sample with data from the last three years, each year they are recorded in California and Nevada an average of 25 earthquakes of magnitudes between 4.0 and 5.0 . Regarding tremors of magnitudes between 3.0 and 4.0, they are on average 234 which can be felt per year in both states.

As it normally does with these types of tremors, USGS asks all people who have felt it or who live in the area that trembled to fill in a

form with the location and the effects it may have caused. In this way, the federal agency can have a more accurate record of the consequences of the earthquake.

The authorities insist on recommending to the residents of the state that, even if they have not felt the last tremors, they should be prepared for the so-called Big One with the corresponding emergency kit .
