The governments of Guatemala and Honduras assure that there is still no agreement with the United States on border security, as announced by the White House on Monday.
The Guatemalan Foreign Ministry reported in a press release that border security is a “priority” but ruled out any recent agreement.
“Regarding the statements made recently by the White House spokeswoman (Jen Psaki) in which it is stated that Guatemala reached an agreement with United States for the protection of borders, we clarify that there is no document signed on this matter, “said the Foreign Ministry.
