The soccer player from Monterrey, Jesús Gallardo , made a mistake that will leave him out of the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Concacacaf Champions League . Gallardo traveled with the team to the Dominican Republic, but upon arrival he realized that he had forgotten his passport .

Monterrey will play this Thursday against Atlético Pantoja . However, the Rayados coach will not be able to count on Gallardo for this match. The footballer traveled with his teammates on the same flight, but once he arrived in Dominican territory, Gallardo realized that he was missing the immigration document . For this reason the footballer had to return to Nuevo León and will miss an important match for his club, which has returned to the Concachampions since 2019.

Jesús Gallardo was supported by Javier Aguirre

The Monterrey coach described what happened with his footballer as an “accident” and does not accuse the player’s mistake. Aguirre confessed that they could have brought the footballer back, but they considered better the option of keeping him in Mexico for the club’s next matches .

The subject of Jesus was an accident, one of those that happen , we all got to the plane with a passport, on the bus and he probably dropped it because he was bringing it there, he realized when we got here, he had to go back for it, we could bring it, but we decided that it would stay there and he caught up with us in Toluca, I see it as an accident ”, explained the coach.
