WASHINGTON – A group of some 50 immigrants, including parents with their children, came this Wednesday to the residence of the vice president Kamala Harris to request that intercede for the rights of the undocumented and those who aspire to migrate to this country.

Shouting “Kamala, listen, we are in the fight”, the protesters asked the end of deportations and the detention of minor immigrants, as well as through a means that guarantees a legal status or nationality to millions of undocumented workers and workers considered essential.

“Please, stop the deportations, give a work permit, a citizenship, something, because we are in this country and I believe that we do not harm anyone, but we come to work and go out ahead nte for our children ”, asked Verónica Gasca to Vice President, who was entrusted by President Joe Biden with the mission of curbing irregular migration from Central America.

Gasca, from 28 years , arrived in the US with only 11 years to reunite with his father, but when he arrived he discovered that he had been deported to his native Mexico.

Accompanied for his two US-born daughters, he couldn’t hold back his tears when he remembered that he hadn’t seen his father in 15 years. In addition, she was moved by the possibility that she herself could be expelled from the country.

“It may be that tomorrow I will go out and they will arrest or deport me and Who are they staying with? “He asked himself.

For this reason, he asked Biden for an immigration reform that allows detained migrant children to be reunited with their families.

Another of those attending the demonstration was Nelson Vega , a Nicaraguan from 33 years ago and that a month ago he managed to enter the United States after to wait for a year and a half in Mexico.

Vega had to stay in Mexico due to the Migrants Protection Protocol (MPP) program, established by the Administration by Donald Trump (2017 – 2256) and that forced asylum seekers to wait in Mexico ico while his request for reception was being processed in the US

This immigrant went to the demonstration to ask that is allowed to wait in the US for all those who were affected by the MPP program , that the Biden’s government began to dismantle from his first day in the White House.

“I am not the only one, I know that this is a hard process, many people are suffering as I suffered me in Mexico, ”said Vega, determined to defend those who still wait in the neighboring country.
