MEXICO – A reporter was arrested when he made a live broadcast from a module where they applied the coronavirus vaccine to older adults.

The events were recorded in the border city of Tijuana , when Said Rodríguez , Televisa reporter was surprised by police officers who detained him when he tried to enter the vaccination module .

The televisa group shared the video on their social networks, where Said is seen giving his report from a vaccination module, located in the Plaza Monumental, of Playas de Tijuana.

The reporter begins to enter the vaccination module when a police officer rebukes him and tells him that he cannot pass.

Said ignores him and continues walking, at the same time he goes giving his report, and responds that he has permission to enter, but the policemen did not pay any attention to him and began to struggle with him , to prevent him from entering.

“We ask for authorization, it is incredible what they are doing to us and see, they are practically … what things, right? They just arrested me (…) It is an abuse because they are detaining me out of nowhere, “said the reporter during his broadcast to Televisa Tijuana .

Later a patrol arrived with the intention of raising the reporter to the unit, but finally they could not.

Televisa reported that it reported the facts to the Tijuana Secretariat for Citizen Security and Protection, a body that opened an investigation into the alleged police abuse.

Vaccination plan for older adults

The Mexican government carries out a vaccination plan for the elderly, since they are among the groups vulnerable to contracting the coronavirus.

This is the second stage in the vaccination plan announced by the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador , since in the first, the doses were intended for medical personnel, who are on the first line of care for patients with COVID – 19 .

Although medical personnel from several states and mainly from private hospitals have complained because they have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus, despite being on the front line of battle against the COVID – 19 .
