A week after reports of children hospitalized for consumption of Real Water brand alkaline water , a class action lawsuit against the company was filed in Nevada by consumers claiming to have suffered liver problems .
The class action lawsuit against Real Water -a company based on in Las Vegas – comes just as federal authorities are investigating reports of liver disease allegedly caused by bottled water.
The harm in people has been established as acute non-viral hepatitis , with symptoms such as fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine and the typical yellow coloration in the eyes . For more details, read the FDA statement .

This Monday, Los Angeles County officials issued an alert for people not to drink Real Water bottled water. Stores and restaurants must discontinue the sale and use of the product, and those who have purchased bottles of water must return them for reimbursement.
“We at Real Water take the safety of our products and the concerns of our customers seriously,” the company said in a statement. “Our goal is to work diligently with the FDA to achieve a speedy resolution.”
