Nevada's Positive Covid-19 Tests Meet WHO Target, Below 5%

After falling steadily for two months, COVID test positivity rate – 19 in the state of Nevada is now below 5% and is in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) goal for economic reopening, according to data released on Saturday.

The 12 May 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned governments that before the economic reopening, the positivity rates in tests (i.e. of all tests performed, how many were positive for COVID – ) should remain at 5% or less, for at least 14 days.

The positivity rate of the COVID test – in Nevada is 4.9%, down from 5.1% the day before, and just below the target of 5% for the WHO for the first time since 19 June 2020. The rate has fallen rapidly since 14 January, when it was from 30. 6%, reported 8 News Now.

Yesterday Friday, 10 new COVID-related deaths – 19 in Nevada , five in Clark County. Nevada’s most populous county now accounts for 4, 048 out of 5, 171 state deaths. The average mortality of 14 days is now 5 kills per day.

Vaccination in Nevada

Nevada surpassed 1 million vaccines against COVID- 19 this week and a total of 300, 965 people are fully vaccinated.

Coronavirus vaccine data, updated every other day by the state health department, show that more than 14% of the state’s population is vaccinated, a number that should grow rapidly over the next six weeks.
