A Tennessee man said he nearly lost his $ 1 lottery jackpot, 178, 746 dollars when your winning ticket spent an hour forgotten, on the ground in a business parking lot.

Nick Slatten of Sparta told Tennessee Lottery officials that he discovered that the Tennessee Cash ticket he purchased at Village Market in Smithfield for the drawing on the night of 10, matched all the numbers.

“I was stunned. I couldn’t believe it, ”Slatten said. “I cannot express it. It was something else. ”

Slatten said he took the winning lottery ticket when he went to visiting his fiancee at work to tell her the good news, and then he ran a few errands, including a stop at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store in Sparta.

Slatten said he was realized he had lost the lottery ticket about an hour after leaving the store.

“I couldn’t find it anywhere,” he said.

The player said that he retraced his steps from the day and had his second lucky discovery of the day when he saw the ticket for lottery in the O’Reilly parking lot, right next to the driver’s side door of a parked vehicle.

“It’s a million dollar bill, and someone ran over it,” Slatten said.

The lottery are bearer instruments, like cash.

If a player loses their ticket, anyone can claim it.

The Lottery always encourages players to sign their ticket immediately after purchase to identify it as their own and to help prevent someone else from collecting it, should it be lost or stolen.

Slatten said he and his fiancee plan to buy a new house and vehicles with the proceeds. He said the rest will be invested and allow the couple to live life “without much worry.”
