NYPD Detains “The Ripper” From Subway; attacked at least four

A subject located as “The Ripper” who operated on Line A of the Subway in Upper Manhattan was arrested by elements of the NYPD .

“His shoes were still splattered with the blood of his victims when he was arrested, and he was still in possession of the bloody knife,” a source told The New York Post .

The suspect’s identity has not been released, but he would be charged with have killed at least two homeless people , in addition to two with injuries.

The capture occurred on Saturday afternoon, after almost two days of assaults that began Friday morning, when he attacked a 67 year old man while pushing his walker across the platform Southbound at Station Street 181 in Washington Heights.

The assaults forced the NYPD commissioner, Dermot Shea , to increase surveillance on the Subway, deploying more than 500 policemen.

One of the attacks was described by the victims, who heard: “I’m going to kill you! ”. The result was two injuries, one in the right buttock and another in the wound on the same side.

The fatalities were found with injuries to the neck and torso. A woman, 13 years old, was found in a pool of blood on an A train at the station. street 207 in Inwood, indicated the Post .
