Conor McGregor Trilogy with Dustin Poirier Confirmed for Summer

Dana White , president of the UFC, confirmed that the trilogy between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier is already in plans to take place in Summer.

The Irishman was knocked out inside the octagon against the American last month in the second round.

Their rivalry is now to be confirmed who is the “best”, as Poirier took revenge for his loss to McGregor in 2014.

Since then, both fighters have declared their intentions to adjust the score once and for all and the winner is likely to land a title shot.

White said: “They both want it. So when you have two guys who want the trilogy as much as those two, we’ll try to make it happen. ”

When asked about the timing of when it could happen, White replied: “ This summer, it will happen. All these guys are going to fight, we will narrow it down to the two guys who will meet for the title . ”

White also added that McGregor, a former world champion of two pesos, he’s desperate to save his reputation.

He told ESPN: “Now he’s completely obsessed with the rematch and he wants the fight. What’s fun for us, being the fans, if you look at the number one guy in the world rankings, Dustin Poirier down to number seven, who I think is Rafael dos Anjos, the fights that can be made to find out who he becomes The next champion is amazing.

“We have some incredible fights ahead of us to find out which of these guys from one to seven will face off to become the next world champion.”
