The Mexican-Peruvian striker Santiago Ormeño recovered his good sense in the area this Friday, scoring a triplet in Puebla’s 4-0 victory against Juárez FC at the start of the sixth date of the Clausura 2021. With his three goals he reached four to get within a score of the leader of the Clausura scorers, the Argentine Pedro Alexis Canelo, from Toluca.
Ormeño scored in the first Clausura day, when Puebla tied 1-1 against Guadalajara , but in the last four games in which his team only won one victory, the grandson of former Peruvian goalkeeper Walter Ormeño left blank.
Ormeño’s first goal was an elegant definition to the goalkeeper of Juárez; the second was in a penalty and the third , a pointed shot to an assist from Colombian Omar Fernández. Puebla completed the win with a score by Uruguayan Christian Tabó.

Ormeño lived in the last tournament his best moment as a professional. In 13 matches he scored seven times , actions that put him on the radar of the Peruvian coach, the Argentine Ricardo Gareca , who accepted in a press conference that follows him, and would like to see him wearing the shirt of the Peruvian Soccer Team.
The forward with dual nationality and 27 year old revealed last November that the key to moving from Unsuccessful footballer to be in Gareca’s sights , it was a FIFA video game tournament with which the Liga Mx replaced real football during the first months of the pandemic.
“ My time in the eLiga gave me great confidence and that is why I have managed to stand out. It has helped me to be successful in real football , it was an impulse because before I was not 100 percent convinced of what I wanted and was, now I am more determined ”, he explained.
