Chicharito Hernández confesses after his first season in LA Galaxy: “I hit bottom”

The historical scorer of the Mexican National Team, Chicharito Hernández lived in 2020 his worst year as a professional soccer player and possibly as a person . He had a terrible season with his new team, the Los Angeles Galaxy and his marriage to Sarah Kohan fell apart. Now the player opens up and admits hitting rock bottom to start getting up.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times newspaper, Hernández admitted that these months were not easy, and He showed self-criticism with the moment he is going through his life and professional career.

I hit bottom,” he said. “I lived things that normally are lived in five, 10 years , you know what I mean? It is not an excuse. It’s reality. And the reality is that I did not take responsibility. I couldn’t handle all that. ”

In case something else had been needed in the 2020 of Chicharito Hernández, his grandfather Tomás Balcazar, a historic Chivas player, died on 26 April at 88 years after spending several days in the hospital, the loss of his grandfather was another blow in the forward’s mentality.

“When the end of the season came, I made a very deep criticism. About my life, about me. And I just decided that I can do much, much better , ”he said. “On the emotional and very spiritual side, when COVID arrived, it was like a perfect moment to expose the things that I have not worked with,” explained Hernández.

“I assumed full responsibility for what is in my hands. My body, my mind, my emotions and I want to take them further , I don’t even want to say limits. Because for me that doesn’t exist, “he added.

Currently Chicharito is working on his physical condition in order to recover his best level , since his objectives are to get the MLS title, as well as to return to a call for the Mexican National Team.

The MLS season 2021 will begin on Saturday 17 April.
