Fabiano Benítez, is son of the historic Ecuadorian scorer Chucho Benítez, one of the most prominent and prolific strikers that America had in recent years . Currently, his legend continues at the hands of his son who plans to follow in his footsteps in Mexican soccer, but before he dedicated an emotional message to his father who died in the 2013 .
“ I keep crying, I keep missing every advice, every call, even to scold me . I still miss that fighter who, even if we were sad, always made us laugh. It fills me with joy and nostalgia to see many people shouting your name, thousands of people feeling it as if you were a son of each member who is in the street singing “CHUCHO NO SE VA”, explained Fabiano through instagram.
Fabiano Benítez spent 3 months on trial with Santos and had to return to his country since he is a minor . He is currently preparing to return to Mexico at 18 years and try again in Santos or in America, clubs where his father left his mark.
“As I would have liked to shout at you with joy and tell you Dad I made it, I fulfilled my dream now I am only shouting to the sky and honoring your name for good I LOVE YOU ”, he added.
Chucho Benítez passed away on 29 June 2013 due to a coronary artery problem just one day after debuting with his new club, El Jaish SC, of the Qatar League. In Mexico he won two league titles : with Santos in the 2008 and with America in the 2013.
