Nine members of Congress, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, will soon walk through the Capitol and will deliver the impeachment article against former President Trump to the Senate.
These members, known as impeachment managers, are the ones who will prosecute the case against former President Donald Trump before the Senate. Pelosi said that the House will officially send the article of impeachment against Trump to the Senate on Monday.

“We are respectful of the Senate’s constitutional power over the trial and we are always attentive to the impartiality of the process, pointing out that the former president will have had the same amount of time to prepare for the trial as our managers, ” Pelosi said in a statement on Saturday. “ Our managers are ready to begin presenting their case before 100 members of the Senate jury through the process of trial. ”
The Chamber voted on 13 January to indict Trump on the charge of incitement to insurrection, just a week after a mob of supporters of the president stormed the United States Capitol in an attack that left five dead.
The group of de Democrats, who have a background in law, will be led by Congressman Jamie Raskin, Maryland attorney. Raskin will read the impeachment article against Trump in the Senate on Monday night.
A new group of managers
“Donald John Trump, therefore, justifies the indictment and the trial, the removal from office and the disqualification to hold and enjoy any position of honor, trust or profit in the United States ”, affirms the article of the accusation.
For this year’s trial, Pelosi has selected a diverse group of members of the House, including Congressman Joe Neguse, who will be the youngest impeachment manager in U.S. history.
The managers of Trump’s impeachment are:
Jamie Raskin, who He leads the group, and is a key member of the House Judiciary Committee and Rules Committee, and wrote the impeachment article for “incitement to insurrection” along with two other managers, while taking refuge in the Capitol during the January 6 riot.
Congresswoman Diana DeGette , who has been a member of Congress representing Colorado for 13 years. This will be the second time he has participated in impeachment since presiding over Trump’s first impeachment debate in the House.
Congressman David Cicilline, Democrat from Rhode Island, was one of three impeachment managers who wrote the impeachment article against Trump, while a mob stormed the Capitol.
Joaquín Castro, the Texas Democrat who has been one of Trump’s most staunch critics, will help prosecute the case against the former president during the Senate trial.
The legislator Eric Swalwell, another strong critic of Trump during his presidency, will use his experience as a prosecutor to present the case against the former president before the Senate.
Ted Lieu , a California Democrat who was elected in 2014, led the effort to write and sponsor the impeachment article co with Raskin and Cicilline, during the assault on the Capitol.
Stacey Plaskett will bring her legal background and experience to her role as an impeachment manager at the next trial. She represents the US Virgin Islands, which means she does not have the ability to cast a vote for impeachment.
Madeleine Dean, a Democrat from Pennsylvania , is a member of the Judicial Committee and will bring his extensive experience in law and ethics to his role as an impeachment manager.
Joe Neguse, of years , is a rising star in the Democratic caucus and is a member of the House Judiciary Committee. Previously, he served as a litigator in private law practice.
None of the prosecution managers in this trial argued the case at Trump’s first impeachment trial, when the Senate acquitted the former president for obstruction of justice and abuse of power.

When will the trial politician Trump in the Senate
The next trial, which comes about a year after Trump’s first impeachment, is scheduled to starting the week of February 8.
Democrats will need the 50 Democratic senators and at least 17 Republican senators vote in favor of sanctioning Trump.
Los Impeachment managers will testify that Trump incited the January 6 riots to block the certification of Electoral College results.
