Arda Turan, former Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona player will be tried again for sexual harassment , after a Turkish court annulled the acquittal of 2019 and ordered a repeat trial, Turkish television reports today.
The player, currently at the Basaksehir in Istanbul , was sentenced in 2019 to two years and eight months in prison for injuries and for shooting in a hospital a weapon for which he had no license, but acquitted him of a crime of sexual harassment.

The events tried date back to October 2018 , when Turan had a fight in a disco with the popular singer Berkan Sahin, after accusing him of having harassed his wife in the mi local smo.
The soccer player acknowledged the facts but denied the harassment and the court acquitted him , considering that Turan did not know that the plaintiff, Özlem Sahin, she was Berkan’s wife.
The appeal court has now decided that the court did not properly investigate that Turan had met earlier with Özlem and Berkan Sahin and did not accept the statements of two witnesses, so the trial must be repeated.
