French motorcycle racer Pierre Cherpin, from 52 years passed away when he was transferred in a medical plane from Jeddah to Lille, France according to the organization of the Dakar Rally.

The mishap occurred at kilometer 178 of the day and He was assisted by other pilots before being transferred by helicopter to a hospital in Sakaka, Saudi Arabia.
