Maluma became this Friday the first man to star alone on the cover of the US version of the prestigious fashion magazine “ELLE” .

The magazine’s editorial chief, Nina García, made the announcement on social networks by posting a photo of the February issue.

They say that there is always a first time … and today, as Colombian and editor-in-chief of the magazine ‘ELLE’, I am very happy to announce that a Colombian, Maluma, is the first man to have a solo cover in our header ”, wrote García.

From a Barranquillera to a part of Medellín, today I want to add myself to the words that Madonna dedicated to her and that the interview collects and that are the “positivi and energy ”that he transmits. More than ever, in this 2019 we need more of this and why not say it … More of Maluma ”, he added the journalist and fashion critic, who became famous as a judge on the reality show Project Runway.

The magazine also publishes a report in which she explains her relationship with her art. “ I always say that music has saved my life, saved my family. For me, music is everything ”, said the artist.

Maluma’s presence on the cover of “ELLE”, a magazine for female consumers specialized in fashion and beauty, comes two months after her competitor “Vogue” decided to put British artist Harry Styles on the cover.

While the photos of Styles were much more provocative, as he appeared with outfits considered feminine, Maluma was photographed with very colorful clothes with pastel tones related to Art Deco, all from the Dior brand.

Although the Colombian was, with a sure step, making his way in the Anglo market of the United States, the process picked up speed from 2019, when it became known that he had been chosen to debut in Hollywood alongside Jennifer Lopez in the movie “Marry Me.”

The premiere of the film was delayed from last summer to this Valentine’s Day, although it had to be postponed again and the current date is scheduled for May.

Maluma shared the cover and images of the photographic session and then added: “Thank you @elleusa for choosing me as the first man to be the cover of the magazine, this is HISTORY !! To continue dreaming partners. From Colombia to the world !! ”.
