“It's a Shame”: A Houston Police Officer Participated in the Capitol Riots; there could be more officers involved

TEXAS – An officer of the Houston Police Department who was part of the violent riots that took place in the United States Capitol United last week , resigned this Thursday from his post, according to the Chief of Police, Art Acevedo.

Tam Pham, from 48 years, he worked with the department for 18 years and was assigned to the patrol division at Westside Station.

Pham was identified by sources as the officer who traveled to Washington on January 6 and entered the Capitol during the session being held in Congress to confirm President-elect Joe Biden as the winner of the presidency.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo announced Pham’s resignation, but did not identify him by name during the press conference.

Acevedo shared that I know contacted an FBI special agent after he received information about involvement in the Pham insurrection attempt. Acevedo learned of the information this Sunday.

The Chief of Police commented that an investigation into Pham’s activities while he was in Washington DC

Acevedo said that the clue about Pham came to him from a Houston resident who recognized the officer in images posted on the Facebook platform.

“I cannot explain the anger I felt when I saw a policeman from our department and other departments participating in the attack. It’s a shame ”, Acevedo commented.

Pham might just be the first Houston-area cop to is discovered, because Acevedo said that apparently there are other city officials who made the trip to the capital and participated in the incident where five people died.

“We know that many people from Houston were in DC in Houston ”, concluded Acevedo.
