The Federal Police of Brazil and Interpol arrested this Thursday in an apartment in the luxurious neighborhood of Leblón, in Rio de Janeiro , Argentine golfer Ángel ‘Pato’ Cabrera, accused of domestic violence by three of his ex-partners, according to Brazilian media .

The Brazilian authorities had not officially communicated the arrest of Cabrera, which occurred on Thursday night, but according to the news portal G1, of the Globo network, and with the digital edition of Veja magazine, Cabrera was approached in an apartment by agents of the PF and Interpol.

The police operation, according to the media, attended a preventive arrest warrant for extradition purposes issued by the Supreme Federal Court (STF), highest court in the country, at the request of the National Central Office of Interpol in Brasilia, which considered Cabrera a fugitive from the Argentine Justice.

The other woman who filed a formal complaint against Cabrera was Micaela Escudero, who accuses the golfer of “threats and coercion.” The Argentine, according to the press, will be transferred to the penitentiary complex of Benfica, in the capital of Fluminense, and the STF must decide in the next few days on his extradition.
