The Hispanic man suspected of having shot and killed an ex-girlfriend of his and the mother of his daughter in Los Angeles, committed suicide when he was persecuted by the authorities in the state of Texas during the weekend.

The community of Pacoima, a neighborhood northwest of Los Angeles, was shocked when authorities released a video last week that showed Hebert Nixon Flores, of 46 years old, got out of a car, chased after a terrified 35 year old woman named Karen Ruiz and shot her six times at the door of a house.

Their daughter, 3 years old, was in a car a few meters from the shooting.

According to authorities, Flores, originally from El Salvador, shot himself when Irving Police, assisting the FBI, I was about to catch him on Saturday. The suspect was visiting relatives in the city located in the Dallas area.

A statement indicated that “while the officers were monitoring the place where it was located, Flores was seen entering from a vehicle and began to drive towards Dallas.”

When Flores realized that he was being followed, he got out of the vehicle and started walking. Then he was shot to death, according to the statement.

Relatives of the murdered woman created a GoFundMe page for donations to benefit the girl who is now an orphan, and her grandmother.
