The maritime interceptions of immigrants off the coast of San Diego , California, broke records in the fiscal year 2020 more than 300 operational, and in this 2021 arrests are on the rise, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported Tuesday.

At Last operation, the federal authorities intercepted a boat near midnight on Saturday with 20 immigrants undocumented on board.

Officers determined that the 17 immigrants were illegally present in the United States . All the people were taken to a local Border Patrol station for processing and removal from the country.

“As A constant reminder to the public, if you see anything out of the ordinary near shore, feel free to call authorities, ”CBP spokesman Aaron M. Heitke said in the statement.

He last 17 December a boat with 23 Mexican immigrants managed to arrive to the shores of Long Beach, a city that belongs to the county of Los Angeles.

The undocumented – 21 men and two women, including two minors, all of Mexican origin, were detained by federal authorities. This operation is not included in the San Diego figures.
