TEXAS – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the owner of a pit bull dog that attacked a three-year-old girl in the interior of a restaurant in the Old Town Spring area this weekend.
The animal is apparently a service dog that accompanied its owner inside the establishment. According to officials, the parents of the attacked girl and other witnesses said that the pitbull was wearing a vest that identified him as a service dog .
Service dogs assist people with disabilities or suffering from emotional conditional.
Investigators shared surveillance video footage with ABC – 13 where the owner of the dog is observed leaving the restaurant with the animal while the father of the victim tries to prevent him from leaving the place.
Investigators updated the investigation Tuesday and said they have a good idea who the woman is, but noted that they have not been able to establish contact with her after the incident.

Officers continue to acquire evidence in the case and it is anticipated that they will soon be contacting the county prosecutor’s office to file charges against the woman.
The Waldroup family, according to the ABC report – 13, I was about to enter the Loose Caboose restaurant in Old Town Spring, which is located 30 miles north of downtown Houston.
When the girl walked through the door earlier than the rest of the family, the pitbull got on top of her and bit her in the face. The girl’s mother took the dog off her and began to tend to the little girl’s wounds.
The owner with her dog left the place in a hurry while the The girl’s father was chasing her to stop her. The woman did not stop and got into a vehicle driven by a man and drove away from the scene. Investigators want to speak to the owner about the incident.
The case remains under investigation.
