The Eagles of America started on 2021 with the right foot: Winning and liking. The team led by Santiago Solari beat Atlético San Luis 2-1.
Although the capital team showed some deficiencies in the air game, they managed to rescue the victory in an exciting match against the Potosinos.
America opened the scoreboard with a great goal from Mauro Lainez , who at the minute 26 scored his first goal as azulcrema , by stealing a ball from midfield that ended with a direct shot at the goal.

In the second half, the game continued back and forth and there was even arbitration controversy, as a goal from America was annulled one minute 52 out of place. However, Henry Martin seemed to be in line.

When it seemed that Solari’s team was heading to victory by the minimum, San Luis scored the tying goal at ’78.

However, the locals managed to rescue the victory by ’89 with a great goal from Sebastián Córdova, who was assisted by Pedro Aquino, one of the new team members.
Córdova had an exquisite definition and put the final 2-1 that marks a good start in this new team of America commanded by Santiago Solari.
