The Capitol Police did confirm the death of an agent during the assault on the Capitol

The United States Capitol Police announced Thursday night that an officer injured during the violent assault on Congress by attackers loyal to President Trump died from his injuries.

“At approximately 9 o’clock: 30 pm tonight (Jan 7 2021), United States Capitol Police Officer, Brian D. Sicknick, passed away from injuries sustained while on duty ” said in a statement the United States Capitol Police.

“Officer Sicknick was responding to the riots on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the United States Capitol and he was injured while physically interacting with the protesters. He returned to his division office and collapsed ”, says the statement.

The Capitol Police reported that Sicknick was taken to a local hospital and that his death will be investigated by the Homicide Section of the Metropolitan Police Department, the United States Capitol Police and “our federal partners” .
