Don't have health insurance? Covered California can give you a subsidy to get a policy

The period to request a financial subsidy to purchase health insurance through Covered California is will keep open until 31 January .

Covered California is the Californian adaptation of the Obamacare program that was created under the Affordable Care Act approved in the year 2010. Through the platform, Californians are linked with recognized insurance companies at the same time that determines whether the person or the family qualifies for a financial subsidy to help cover the monthly expenses of the policy.

Currently any Californian can apply and qualify to receive an economic subsidy and obtain quality health coverage either individual or family. Since the Affordable Care Act was implemented in 2014 in California, people under the age of 65 years that qualify for Medi-Cal are those that your annual income does not exceed on 138% of Federal Poverty Limit Established . The implementation of the measure increased the number of eligible people in the state reaching 4.7 million more people.

The Covered California program is administered under the direction of the California Department of Health Care and Services and grants subsidies for monthly payments and deductible expenses.
