Arrested for “racism” a woman who falsely accused a teenager of robbery in a hotel in New York

Miya Ponsetto, a young woman accused of falsely accusing a black teenager of stealing his phone and then attacking him in a NYC hotel, was arrested yesterday in California , his home state.

The New York Police Department sent detectives to question Ponsetto (22), after days of intense media coverage of the fight in the hotel that happened on 26 December, and the demands of the adolescent’s family and politicians that the woman face criminal charges.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office in California, on Thursday officers attempted to arrest Ponsetto while driving near her home in Simi Valley, but she didn’t stop until she reached her residence, where refused to get out of the car.

That is why the officers physically removed her from the vehicle, authorities said is. TMZ reported that in the middle of the fight, the suspect tried to close the car door by hitting the leg of an officer.

Ponsetto was arrested on a “fugitive warrant” and jailed without bail. She is expected to be extradited to New York after a hearing today, advanced Associated Press.

Yesterday his lawyer said that Ponsetto is “emotionally upset” and regretful for falsely accusing adolescent Keyon Harrold Jr. (14) of stealing her cell phone.
