Raúl de Molina is currently one of the best-known personalities on the small screen, however “El Gordo ”was not always destined for television. Before he triumphed in El Gordo y la Flaca was a renowned paparazzi who managed to get the most coveted photographs, one of them went around the world: the one that showed Princess Diana in a bikini .
In an interview he gave for Univision, Raúl recalled that day of 1989. It happened on Necker Island, the place where Diana went to vacation with her children (without Carlos, since there were already problems in her marriage at that time). El Gordo, being close to the place, was preparing for the arrival of international photographers for when they arrived he was already one step ahead.
Raúl recalled that the princess’s security team met with the reporters upon arrival of the royal family and indicated a time when they could capture her . On one occasion, after the photographers’ time ended, the princess changed her outfit and put on a red bikini which immediately made the press want to return take a picture of the peculiar occasion, Raúl was one of the few who managed to have a clear image.
This is how Gordo’s photographs captured the attention of all the media around the world and his name was known internationally. Now remember those days fondly and tell those stories with great feeling.
