The meeting of the newborn Jesus of Nazareth and the wise men from the East took place on January 6 in Bethlehem , according to the Catholic religion, for this reason this day is known as Day of the Magi . And for astrology lovers this date is also special because they celebrate Astrologer’s Day .

And it is that Melchior, Gaspar and Baltazar (name that was given to them in the 6th century) were considered “magicians” not because they were illusionists or know the dark arts, but because they were priests of religion of Zoroaster, which was practiced in Persia, and sages capable of interpreting the movements of the stars . That is, they were astrologers , as reported by specialized media .

These “magicians” came from Babylon, a millenary city that is the standard of Astrology . To get to Jesus they were guided by the famous Star of Bethlehem which in the Bible is described as a star so bright that it was thought to be a second sun.

In some writings it is said that the kings from the East were “shamans” linked to the cult of the stars and they agree that were dedicated to the study of astronomy . Following the reading of the sky, they describe, they knew that a star would guide them to the baby Jesus.

For this reason, the Bulgarian astrologer Boris Cristoff (1925-2017) He suggested that on January 6 also celebrated the Astrologer’s Day in honor of the three Magi . On the site Return of Saturn it is explained that most of the currents and astrological schools of Spanish-speaking countries adopted this proposal.

However, in the Anglo-Saxon world on International Astrology Day is celebrated at the beginning of the astrological year, that is, when the Sun reaches zero degrees in Aries in March and marks the beginning of the Western Zodiac.
