Food delivery man steals puppy, family's Christmas present

The police report that a DoorDash worker, who was bringing food to a home in Michigan, left the bags with the food, but took advantage of the moment and stole an 8 week old puppy from the family.

Ashley Swinton, from Warren, Michigan, reported the theft of an 8-week-old puppy, named Bella, just after New Years. L he police proceeded to investigate the surveillance camera images to look for clues about the crime.

The crime, allegedly committed by a delivery driver of 26 years of DoorDash, it was captured by one of the cameras.

“You see the woman petting the dog. I guess I was trying to see if the dog was aggressive or something. Then she is seen picking up the dog and taking him directly to her car, “Swinton said, recalling the video, to the WCAX network.

In collaboration with DoorDash, the police located the delivery driver, who allegedly confessed to the crime, but did not explain their actions.

Detective Brian Price, of the Warren Police Department, confirmed that they managed to recover Bella and was returned to the Swintons.

The family had received the puppy as a Christmas present.

“If you can take a dog, you can take someone’s belongings, you can take a key, anything” Swinton said.
