Edmond Stringa, a regular fisherman in New York, had the surprise of his life when he “caught” a decomposed corpse on a Brooklyn pier .
Stringa, a Queens resident of 69 years, narrated at New York Post who had gone to the pier to fish on Monday, but lost his hook when he got caught up in something big. He came back the next day with a bigger cane and claw, and that’s when he found the body.
“It was very heavy. When I took it out a bit, I saw the shoes, the pants (…) I thought it was something suspicious. I knew it was not a fish, ”Stringa explained.
He then called 911. Upon arrival, NYPD found the body floating around Canarsie Pier yesterday shortly before 4 p.m. It was too decomposed to determine the identity immediately.
Police are investigating the case, while a doctor coroner determines cause of death.
