  • Moi c’est Madame trains to react to sexism, thanks to a series of “replica” cards to respond to “attacks”.
  • Who’s she? and Bad bitches only will allow you to learn names of famous and powerful women while having fun.

The end of the year celebrations gave you the opportunity to play, and you realized that maybe you needed to renew and dust off your stock of board games

? No problem, 20 Minutes has tested three feminist games for you, as a family. What to learn by playing the names and backgrounds of famous women, or protect yourself from sexist remarks with a few well-felt spikes.

“Who’s she? “: The” Who Is It? »Badass women Le jeu « Who’s she? »

Le jeu « Who’s she? »
The game “Who’s she? »- Zuzia Kozerska-Girard

This is by far our favorite game, and the one that conquered the heart of our transgenerational team of testers, of at 66 years. The Polish game Who’s she? is constructed as a Who Is It?

, this deductive game where you have to find who is hiding behind the map drawn by the opponent (but who had only five women on 25 …). Here, no beards or red or brown hair, but women who may have been “leaders”, “self-taught”, “musicians”, “authors”, who fought racism, for the rights of women, or were committed to ecology. In all 26 women, among including artist Yoko Ono, singer Aretha Franklin, writer Joanne Rowling, or the first female doctor and obstetrician of ancient Greece, Agnodice.

Chloé, 11 years , became a fan of the game. When we read her the notice on Agnodice, which explains that she had to cut her hair and dress as a man to practice her science, she writes: “It is thanks to Agnodice how good Sasha was! », In reference to film Little girl , which tells the story of a little trans girl. A few minutes later, she is already explaining everything to her grandmother – “Beyoncé, do you know Grandma?” – and chose her favorite: Wangari Maathai, an environmental activist who created the Green Belt movement, which pays women a salary to plant trees. The youth will save us!

“Bad bitches only”: the feminist Time’s up

The game “Bad bitches only” – Gender games

Make your team guess as many personalities as possible in a limited time, in words, mimes or drawings: it does not remind you Something ? The Time’s up! The game Bad bitches only is an adaptation, with the menu this time famous women. There are singers Angèle and Beyoncé, Queen Aliénor d’Aquitaine, Burmese head of state Aung San Suu Kyi, actresses Brigitte Bardot and Marion Cotillard, skater Surya Bonaly, and many others…

Some cards are not obvious, but you are allowed to pass them in the first round. It will therefore be an opportunity to learn some perhaps less well-known names, such as the Italian painter Artemisia Gentilieschi, the mathematician Sophie Germain, or the Queen of ancient Egypt Hatshepsut. Our testers all enjoyed the game.

“Moi c’est Madame”: the most original, but the most complicated Le jeu « Who’s she? »

Le jeu « Moi c’est Madame »
The game “Moi c’est Madame” – Eclap.fr

This is the most original, because unlike the other two, it does not use the rules of an existing game. But it is also, perhaps for the same reason, the game whose rules are the most complicated to understand. Each player draws a card with a sexist remark, challenge or question written on it, and the others must respond by retorting with a line, improvising a skit or giving the correct answer.

This gives quite funny sequences when the improv scene is: “Respond by scratching your crotch”. The lines are sharp: “Go buy yourself a uterus and we’ll talk about it again” … But the challenges and questions are sometimes difficult for a non-specialist audience: “Sing a feminist song”. We also advise you to be careful before playing with teenagers, that of our team of testers felt uncomfortable when they had to read aloud “Sorry, I eat pussies “. In the end the game made a half-flop, especially because of the readability of the rules (of this beta version, it should be noted). Before you start, make sure you have watched this video .
