Huy Fong Sriracha sauce is one of the most popular you can find on the market today. But do you know how it is done exactly? Next, we tell you what their method is.
The process to make this Sriracha begins every day when they are delivered over 21 tons of red jalapeno peppers to the only factory they own in Irwindale, California .
Peppers are inspected and washed, before being sent to a grinder. Here, the chili peppers are ground to a puree and placed in industrial mixers. Then vinegar, salt, and preservatives are added, forming a base for the sauce, as reported in Mashed .
After mixing is complete, it is sent to a filling station, where it is pumped into storage barrels. These barrels are then stored in the factory warehouse.
Afterwards, the chili base is extracted from the barrels and sent to another mixing department, where a number of ingredients are added including garlic and sugar (many other ingredients remain a secret) .
The sauce is then pumped into its classic little bottles, which are made in the same factory. In total, 3, 000 bottles each hour, which is equivalent to about 20 million bottles per year .
