Biden integrates more Latinos into his close team in the White House

The presence of Latinos increases in the front-line team of the president-elect Joe Biden and the Vice President-elect Kamala Harris with the integration of Cristóbal J. Alex , Emmy Ruiz and Adrián Sáenz in areas of the Cabinet, dissemination and public participation.

Alex will be Undersecretary of Cabinet. He was founding president of the Latino Victory Fund and national deputy director of outreach and voter mobilization for Hillary for America, but on Biden’s campaign he was an advisor. The son of immigrants, a native of El Paso, Texas, received his law degree specializing in civil rights from the University of Washington.

Ruiz will serve as deputy director of Political Strategy and Disclosure. She was a campaign assistant to Vice President-elect Harris, Secretary Hillary Clinton , President Barack Obama and Democratic President Tom Pérez, but is known activist for women’s rights and LGBTQ, labor which she took to another level as a co-founder and partner of the political firm NEWCO Strategies. Ruiz graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He lives in Austin with his wife and son.

Sáenz will be deputy director of the Office of Public Participation. He was a Latino paid media advisor on the Biden-Harris campaign, but has experience in the White House, having served as Special Assistant to the President, Deputy Director and Senior Advisor in the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs during the administration of President Barack Obama . He is originally from Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

“Our nation faces challenges urgent and we are building a team that will be ready to face them from day one, ” said President-elect Biden.

Appointments also include Evan Ryan, as Cabinet Secretary; Erin Wilson, as Deputy Director of Political Strategy and Outreach; Austin Lin, who will be Deputy Director of Technology, and David Recordon , Chief Technology Officer.

President-elect Biden’s transition team indicated that the team will focus on state and local governments and organizations, as well as civilians.

“To meet the unprecedented challenges facing the American people, we must build an administration that reflects our best. country ”, highlighted Vice President-elect Harris.

The Chief of Staff, 8491 Ron Klain considered that a team is being put together that “breaks barriers.”
