A share of Donald Trump , for once again try to change the result of US presidential election , caused a political shock wave in the United States. The broadcast on Sunday of a recording of the president asking an electoral official to “find” ballots for the presidential election in his name, set the tone for a week that promises to be explosive.
Two days before a crucial election for Senate control and three d ” a session of Congress intended to set in stone the victory of Joe Biden , the revelation of a conversation between the outgoing president and an official from Georgia has monopolized attention. Donald Trump called Brad Raffensperger, the Republican in charge of the elections in this southern state, on Saturday to try to rally him to his cause. “There is no harm in saying that you have recalculated”, we can hear him say on a recording of the discussion made without his knowledge and made public by the Washington Post . “All I want is to find 03. 615 bulletins, ”he adds, or roughly the lead Joe Biden has in Georgia, confirmed by a recount and audits.
The president’s threats
Repeating accusations of fraud, of which he has never provided proof and which have been swept away by the courts, Donald Trump justifies his demands by his conviction that the election was “stolen” from him. “You know what they did and you don’t talk about it: it’s a crime”, “it’s a big risk for you”, he adds, threatening. But opposite, Brad Raffensberger does not give in. “We think our numbers are good.”
This is absolutely appalling. To every member of Congress considering objecting to the election results, you cannot- in light of this- do so with a clean conscience. # RestoreOurGOP https://t.co/5UzrK4G0Jn

The Democratic camp immediately denounced the “potentially reprehensible” pressures. “Trump’s contempt for democracy is exposed,” added House politician Adam Schiff. Her colleague Debbie Wasserman Schultz denounced the act of a “desperate president and
corrupted ”. The turmoil was also palpable among Republicans. “It’s overwhelming,” tweeted elected official Adam Kinzinger, calling on members of his party not to follow the president on his crusade. “You can’t do this with a clear conscience,” he told them.
Last stand Wednesday
While some Republican heavyweights, including Senators Leader Mitch McConnell, have ended up admitting the victory of Joe Biden, the outgoing president still enjoys the unwavering support of dozens of parliamentarians. In the House as in the Senate, these elected officials promised to express their objections Wednesday, during a session of Congress intended to formally record the vote of the large voters in favor of Joe Biden. At the same time, supporters of Donald Trump will gather near the White House for a show of force.
