Students in central Maryland they will continue to attend school virtually while about half of the nation’s students will be able to return to their school buildings.
The Baltimore Sun reported Monday that There is no clear idea when those Maryland students might return to classes in person.
Few students in suburban Maryland have been back inside a school during the pandemic . Experts say the reasons include politics, union opposition, and the failure of federal and state leaders to establish clear guidelines as the pandemic began.
Meanwhile, a contingent of some parents are furious that schools are not open. And they say they have sent emails and letters and held unsuccessful protests.
The Maryland governor and state superintendent have advocated for schools to reopen. But they have stopped to ask for schools to open because they say it is up to local school boards and superintendents.
